This is a little bit of my internship in RAVEN

Life is a journey and every space we get in teach us something. RAVEN. Radio Voices in English, UNIMINUTO, Bogota, Colombia. That's how the story starts.

I did participate as a volunteer in the first semester of the last year (2022) and suddenly, I fell in love with this project. Their main point is to talk about those issues that, as a society, we´re merged in. We talk about race, class and gender; and of course, their intersection.

It was such a nice thing noticing the innovating, curious and exiting way they talk about this topics, radio and podcasting are the main tool of getting in touch with the audience. Here is when the magic happen, the magic of the sound, the magic of the voices.

And as if the las thing I wrote about wasn't enough, they created everything in a bilingual way. That was all, I felt I found an space where I belonged.

With all this, they offered me to work with them as an intercultural comunicator, in a virtual exchange course that happened between UNIMINUTO in Bogota and The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, this class explores the public speech in the intersection between poverty and the environment in Colombia and the US.

It was a vast experience. Facing the facts of different time zones, cultural matrixes, ways of existence, language barriers and all that comes with a culture shock, let me learned while I worked. RAVEN gave me the chance to work hand by hand in the team planning, creating, developing strategies and definitely improving myself in the final stage of my major and the beggining of my career.

In addition they let me redesing their image and create from scratch their social media, something that I'm proud of. As a matter of fact I'll be leaving the link to get directly to our work on IG.
